Several moms have commented that life is easier when the baby is still immobile. Well, John is immobile no longer. He's been practicing all week and just learned to roll over while we were all busy doing something else.
While I was typing this post, Michael walked into the dining room to find Amelia and Thomas standing on the table trying to change the bulbs in the chandelier. Yesterday he figured out how to get the hammer, and the day before that, they made their way into the cleaning products. By God's goodness and grace, we're usually able to keep these little ones alive and healthy.
Tonight we hosted our neighborhood's annual picnic. Ten families came over to hang out in our backyard. Amelia was not shy like she is at preschool, and she and Thomas thoroughly enjoyed playing with the 1st grade boys.
Oh, some of us got haircuts this week, and a little girl commented today that Amelia looks like Madeline. It's pretty short, but it will grow. We'll enjoy the low maintenance aspect for the time being.
