As much as we really wanted to NOT watch TV with the kids, TiVo has basically saved our sanity quite often these past few months. Curious George is the all-time favorite. Signing Time is an educational hit. Mr. Rogers can be tolerated occasionally. Sesame Street doesn't keep their attention.
Tonight we found a new one. Thomas nearly hit me with the remote and walked away, giving me a glare that said, "You better turn it on something good, Mom." I obliged, thinking something totally boring would be on. The Lawrence Welk Show was on WUNC. Who knew it would be an absolute HIT! Thomas was mesmerized by the brass, the drums, and the singing. Amelia loved the dancing and tried hard to imitate the cop prancing around the garden or the fancy black duo with tophats and canes. We even got a little dose of the Osmonds. Can't wait to get a fresh (well, well-preserved from the 70's) episode next weekend.
Thomas is singing along with a boy-girl-boy trio right now. It is awesome. I guess all the Kindermusik classes are paying off in terms of music appreciation.
