CSA - the first week's report

We made it through the first week of the cooking challenge! We made all the recipes - except the sweet potato maple syrup quick bread before the next box will arrive. Maybe we'll whip that one up tonight. Michael and I liked everything, and the kids liked nothing. They got exposed to items they wouldn't normally have, so that's good, right?

This week's box contains:
Bronze Fennel
Chard
Green garlic
Green onions
Pac Choy
Salad mix
Strawberries
Japanese Turnips

Dairy and Meat shares are, respectively, feta cheese and lamb bratwurst.

I would be totally lost without Judy's meal plan and recipes! The kohlrabi was Michael's favorite, and mine was the radish top soup. Patty liked the roasted sweet potato risotto enough to take some home, so that's a good sign!

We also realized Michael needs a little bit more loving instructions on how to properly wash greens before drying them in the salad spinner. He left the lettuce on the stalk or whatever so that the inner leaves never got the chance to see water. He tried, though, so I give him credit!
